Councillor Vacancies
There is currently a vacancy for a Town Councillor (unpaid - voluntary). If you are interested - contact the Town Clerk for information. You must be:
18 years or over; and
Resident in the town or
Resident within 3 miles of the town, or
Have your principal place of work within the town,
And have been so for 12 months prior to applying.
There are other qualifying points, contact the clerk for information.
The post of Councillor is unpaid, you must agree to sign up to the National Code of Conduct which governs Councillors, sign a declaration of interest and declare interests in items being discussed against which you may have a personal or prejudicial interest. There is guidance and training for new councillors.
